How to Cancel

Option 1: Cancel In Person

  • Visit the front desk at your home club.
  • Request to cancel your membership. You'll be directed to a membership advisor.
  • Fill out the cancellation form.
  • Insist on a printed copy of the cancellation confirmation.
  • Be prepared for a retention conversation. The staff is trained to offer alternatives.

Option 2: Cancel by Certified Mail

  • Write a formal cancellation letter including your full name, Life Time member ID, address, phone number, and date of birth.
  • Address it to your home club's physical address (not corporate).
  • Send via USPS Certified Mail with Return Receipt Requested.
  • Keep the tracking number and receipt.

  • Notice period: Life Time typically requires notice by the 25th of the month for cancellation to take effect the following month.
  • No prorated refunds: You'll be charged for the full final month regardless of when you cancel.
  • Family memberships: If you have a family plan, cancelling the primary membership cancels all linked memberships.
  • Signature clubs: Premium "Signature" memberships may have additional contractual obligations.
  • Personal training & add-ons: These must be cancelled separately.
